The Children's Television Act of 1990, 47 U.S.C. §§ 303a, 303b, 394, and later legislation, oblige television broadcast licensees to serve, over the term of a license, the educational and informational needs of children. Commercial full power and Class A television stations must report their children's educational and informational broadcast programming efforts to the FCC by electronically filing FCC Form 2100, Schedule H (formerly FCC Form 398), Children's Television Programming Report, each year. Form 2100, Schedule H must be filed with the FCC using the Commission’s Licensing Management System (LMS).
In July 2019 the Commission amended its rules to require the Children's Television Programming Report be filed on an annual instead of quarterly basis. Broadcasters last quarterly filing was due on October 10, 2019. The revised annual report will be available in LMS starting on January 30, 诚信彩票网站. Broadcasters first annual report covering the period of time from September 16, 2019 to December 31, 2019, is due on March 30, 诚信彩票网站. Subsequent annual reports will be due by the 30th day following the end of the reporting year. For example, the Children's Television Programming Report covering programming aired in calendar year 诚信彩票网站 is scheduled to be due on February 1, 2021.
Specifically designated non-commercial and educational (NCE) television broadcast stations are exempt from this reporting requirement. Members of the public can monitor children's television programming aired on commercial television broadcast stations via LMS and can also view filings on a station’s online public inspection file.
